
Ogun State Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has deeply expressed depression today on how Ogun State Governor, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun CON has deliberately denied the workers in the Local Government of the State of her Federal allocation and failure to remit arears of Contributory Pension Scheme poised to commence strike anytime

This is gathered by the caveattimes online Newspaper Reporter on Tuesday 27th of January, 2026 while the 20 chapters of the Union in the State assembled in their different Local Governments briefed their members by the NULGE Chairman in each of the Local Government on the next step to take in getting back their statutorily financial rights which is the Autonomy and unremitted Pension Arears which has not been paid.

Meanwhile, in the further statement, the members said memorandum of action was signed by the organized Labour in the State as concern the Contributory Pension Scheme with the Governor and mandate was ensured from the side of the State Government that the arears would be fully paid in September, 2025 but till now nothing has been remited.
According to the NULGE members in the Local Governments in Ogun State expressed displeasure of no future with the maverick action of the State Governor, Prince Abiodun described the governance of been merciless to the workers in the 20 Local Government of the State, that some had retired whose new Pension Scheme melted with are in distressed with all sorts of ailments that some numbers of the retired members of staff have even dead in the cause of the Scheme for there is no how they could trace their Contributory pension destination.
The Workers in their diverse statements made their stand today in the Local Government that they would prefer the Old Scheme Pension to be resurfaced for them and the full implementation of the Local Government Autonomy should, henceforth, come to play in Ogun State for the Local Government workers
