‎RAMADAN AND LENTEN PERIOD: COUNCILOR OWODE EGBA, HON. ADEKUNLE CHARGES MUSLIMS, CHRISTIANS TO COLLECTIVELY PRAY FOR TRANSFORMATION, UNITY, PEACE IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND BEYOND

Councilor representing Ward 3 at Owode Egba Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Honourable Adekunle Ajayi Abdul-Lateef (Laati Iyana) has charged both moslems and christians of his constituency to use the period of the season to collectively pray for the betterment, unity and peace in the Local Government and beyond.

‎The statement was made known to the caveattimesonline newspaper that, this is the time  populace in Nigeria should seek the face of the Almighty Allah/ God for help in every stratum of endeavors. Added further that it should be the time the favour of God should begin to radiating in the facet of the Country Nigeria.

‎”This the Holy ninth Month of  Islamic lunar Calendar, during which moslems fast between the break of down until sunset; a situation where we will refrain ourselves from doing what is not of Allah  and for Christians, it is a time of ecclesiastical year proceeding Esther, time of abstention from certain foods and pleasures”, Hon. Adekunle expounded.

‎He urged all the Moslems and Christians to use the sacred Month which is Wednesday, February 18, 2026 the first day of Ramadan 1447AH in Nigeria to pray for the peace, stability, unity and progress of Local Government, Ogun State and Nigeria particularly in light of current Security challenges

Stressed that this year 2026 fasting  and prayers of both religions is a reflection of cohesive relationship to help one another in prayer, he encouraged them  to steak to the rules of fasting, avoiding indecent acts and to embrace virtue of Ramadan Fasting and Lent.
