The Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Dr. Waliat Folasade Adeyemo has presented the proposed 2026 budget of Twelve Billion and Fifty Million, Four Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty Naira (N12, 050, 447, 760.00) to the 9th Legislative Council of the Local Government.
The appropriation bill tagged “Budget of Sustainable Legacy” is designed to promote sustainable development, improve service delivery, and enhance the welfare of residents across the local government.
Dr. Adeyemo emphasized that the 2026 budget will prioritize key sectors such as infrastructure development, healthcare services, education, and community welfare while also strengthening revenue generation through the digital collection of revenues.
The Chairman highlighted that out of the proposed revenue of Twelve Billion and Fifty Million, Four Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty Naira (N12, 050, 447, 760.00),Ten Billion, Six Hundred and Eight Million,Three Hundred and Thirty Three Thousand,Three Hundred and Eighty Naira (N10,608,337,380.00) is expected from Federal Allocation which will represent Eighty Eight (88%) percent of the total expected revenue.
The Internally Generated Revenue is Eighty Nine Million, Four Hundred and Fifty Thousands Naira (N89,450,000.00), representing zero point Seventy Eight percent (0.78) of the expected revenue.
Value Added Tax (VAT) is Eight Hundred and Ninety-Seven Million, Six Hundred and Sixty Thousand, Three Hundred and Eighty Naira (₦897,660,380.00) representing Seven Point Four Five Percent (7.45%).
Extra Ordinary Items and Capital Receipts is Four Hundred and Fifty-Five Million Naira (₦455,000,000.00) representing Three Point Seven Seven Percent (3.77%).
She therefore called on members of the Legislative Council to give the proposed budget the necessary cooperation and speedy passage for the continued growth and development of Odeda Local Government.
In his acceptance speech, the Leader of the House, Hon. Adeyemi Rotimi appreciates God Almighty for his infinite mercies. He also appreciates the Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Dr. Waliat Folasade Adeyemo for her exceptional leadership.
In his word, “I want to pledge you the total support and cooperation of all Honorable members towards the achievement of a good governance as embedded in our mission tagged Gbayi.”
He also sought the total cooperation of the Executive Arms and the Career Officers, especially during the budget defense by committees.
Giving his vote of thanks, Hon. Raufu Alani Idowu, representing Itesi Ward 2, assured the Chairman that the budget will be giving speedy passage by the legislative council.
