Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the ongoing construction of the asphalt road linking Ajura Ward through Ibu Alufa and the Ikanna-Oluwo axis of the council area.
Amb. Ogunsola expressed his appreciation during the official commissioning of a motorized borehole at Ibu Alufa, describing the project as a major intervention that put an end to the community’s decades-long dependence on stream water as it was then their source of water.
He noted that the provision of the motorized borehole, completed with a generator to power the facility, would significantly improve the living conditions of residents and enhance access to clean and reliable water in the community.
The Council Chairman further stated that the people of Ibu Alufa and other communities within the axis are appreciative of the interventions of the government and expressed confidence that they would continue to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in forthcoming federal and state elections.
CLASSROOM BLOCK COMMISSIONED AT OWOJO
In a similar development, Amb. Ogunsola commissioned a block of two classrooms and an office, fully furnished with Chairs and Tables at St. John’s Primary School, Owojo, Ajebo Ward.
According to the Council Chairman, the project was executed in fulfilment of one of his electioneering promises to improve educational infrastructure across the council area.
He recalled that during one of his visits to the school, he personally witnessed the deplorable condition of the learning environment and the difficult circumstances under which both pupils and teachers were operating.
Amb. Ogunsola emphasized that the project represents the third classrooms construction project undertaken in Ajebo Ward, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to providing quality educational infrastructure across the ward and the entire local government area.
THREE-CLASSROOM BLOCK COMMISSIONED AT MOWE
The Council Chairman subsequently moved to N.U.D Primary School, Mowe, where he officially commissioned a newly constructed block of three classrooms.
He explained that the project was designed to provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers while creating the necessary space for effective teaching and learning.
Amb. Ogunsola reiterated that investing in education remains a priority of his administration, stressing that quality infrastructure is essential to nurturing and preparing children to become responsible and productive future leaders.
BAALE COMMENDS AMB. OGUNSOLA
Earlier, the Baale of Ibu Alufa, High Chief Bilihaminu Kasali Omoyele Jinandu, expressed profound appreciation to Amb. Ogunsola for responding to the long-standing water needs of the community.
He explained that the stream had remained the community’s major source of water for decades, long before his birth, and described the provision of the motorized borehole as a historic intervention that would bring significant relief to the people.
The Baale also appreciated the provision of a generator to power the borehole, noting that the gesture demonstrated the Chairman’s understanding of the peculiar needs of the community.
He assured the Chairman of the community’s continued support for the APC, while expressing their readiness to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Solomon Ademola Yayi in the forthcoming elections.
SCHOOL HEADS EXPRESS APPRECIATION
Also speaking, the Head Teacher of St. John’s Primary School, Owojo, Mrs. Akinola Owolabi Olatomi, could not hide her joy over the newly constructed classrooms and office.
She described the project as a source of relief, hope and renewed confidence for the school and the surrounding community.
According to her, the improved learning environment has already begun to attract increased enrolment from neighbouring communities, particularly as the school prepares for the new academic session.
Similarly, the Head Teacher of N.U.D Primary School, Mowe, Mr. Keefa Kehinde Ige, expressed appreciation to the local government for prioritizing the needs of the school.
He said the addition of the new three-classrooms would go a long way towards reducing congestion in some of the existing classrooms and creating a more comfortable environment for pupils and teachers.
The commissioning of the projects forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola-led administration to deliver meaningful infrastructure and people-oriented projects across Obafemi Owode Local Government, particularly in the areas of education, water supply and community development. He also commissioned a renovated office structure in the council Secretariat, in affirmation to his dedication to improve a conducive of work for all staffs, as he officially commissioned the department of Information, Education and Agriculture respectively.
