OBAFEMI OWODE LG BOSS HAIL CP. OJAJUNI ON HIS FIGHT AGAINST KIDNAPPING, BANDITRY IN OGUN STATE
…seek deployments of more personnel to secure borders across the council area.

Obafemi Owode Local Government Chairman, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA has commended the operation of the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State on the recent arrest and the rescue of abducted persons from the kidnappers den.
The council boss made the commendation during a visit of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP. Bode Ojajuni to his office, Owode-Egba.
He explained that the influx of residents and businesses into the local government brings a new security demand, as the local government remains largest in Ogun State, strategically positioned and shares extensive borders with Lagos and Oyo State, including Seven Local Governments; Abeokuta South, Odeda, Ewekoro,Ifo,Sagamu,Ikenne, and Remo North.

He stressed that the Local Government hosted critical national infrastructure, key industrial hubs, vast agricultural plantations and rapidly growing residential communities along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway. While he pointed out some of the security challenges in the council area ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, land grabbing disputes, occasional farmer-herder friction, among other recent happenings occasioned were the kidnapping and killing of farmers last year at Ajebo and Ogunmakin axis.
He further mentioned the attempted kidnapping of some foreigners and the killing of a soldier, four civilians at Magbon-Etido, also the murder of a retired veteran journalist, and her gateman at Agodo community, all in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
He further assured of total cooperation of his government,as the Local Government is ready to work hand-in-hand with the Commissioner of Police in strengthening the Community policing while the government will continue to mobilize Traditional Rulers, Community Development Associations, Market Men and Women, Religious leaders and Local Vigilante group to work in harmony with the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
He further commended the CP. Ojajuni on the arrest of the suspected killlers of Ms Olakitan Oyesiku, as he applauded the launching of “OPERATION KOSAYE” in ensuring that all areas are well secured.
Responding, CP. Bode Ojajuni, Commissioner of Police, Ogun State appreciated the efforts of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON in signing and launching the OPERATION KOSAYE which cut across lagos and Oyo boundaries with massive deployment of personnel and operational gadgets are unprecedented in recent time.
He expressed optimism that the Local Government Chairman will equally take a bearing from the State Governor, as he appreciated the Council boss for his support to the Area Commander, Divisional Police Officers and other security officers.
He disclosed that Obafemi Owode Local Government is part of the three local governments he has penciled down with urgent action, following the atrocities of the cult groups in noted areas of the council.
Hon. Kayode Dipeolu, Secretary to Local Government gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the government.
Others present at the meeting includes, Head of Local Government Administration, Miss. Olufunke Adeniji, Supervisors, Councillors and Directors.
