OGUN APC COUNCILLOR MAKES KNOWN TO CONTEST OGUN HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, PROMISES DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY AT THE DOORSTEP

All Progressive Congress (APC) Councilor representing Owode Egba at Obafemi Owode Local Government in Ogun State, Hon. (Amb) Adekunle Ajayi Abdul-Lateef A.K.A “LAATI IYANA” has passionately declared his intent to contest for Ogun State House of Assembly of Obafemi-Owode Constituency promised democratic libration and dividends of democracy at the doorstep of dwellers in the Local Government Area.

Ajayi made the declaration while addressing party leaders, elders, youths, women, and supporters during a ward meeting in Owode Ward, on Wednesday, describing his ambition as a call to service and responsibility. “Today is not just another gathering; today is a conversation with destiny. Today is a call to service, responsibility, and renewed commitment,” he said.

The aspirant, who is representing Ward 03 (Owode ward) as a councillor, said his decision to seek a seat in the state legislature was driven by his desire to provide effective and people-oriented representation.

Hon. Adekunle stated, “I stand to announce to you with humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of duty to formally declare my intention to aspire for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Obafemi Owode Constituency.”

Describing himself as a grassroots politician, Iyana said he was born and raised in Obafemi Owode and understood the needs of the people. “I am a true son of the soil, born and bred in Obafemi Owode, nurtured by its values, shaped by its struggles, and inspired by its hopes,” he said.

Àjàyí, an alumnus of Egba Owode High School, Owode-Egba, and the CEO Adekunle Àjàyí Empire, said his political experience was practical and verifiable. “As the councillor representing Owode Ward, I did not merely occupy office, I served. I listened, I engaged, and I am delivering within the limits of my mandate and resources,” he said.

He added that his aspiration was anchored on people-centred legislation, youth empowerment, support for small businesses and artisans, education, community development, and strong party loyalty.

“Our constituency deserves effective representation, not absentee legislation. We deserve a voice that speaks clearly, courageously, and consistently on the floor of the House,” Ajayi said.

Reaffirming his loyalty to the APC, he pledged to uphold party discipline and supremacy. He also appealed to party leaders and elders for guidance and support, while assuring youths and women of inclusion.

“To our great party, the APC, I reaffirm my unwavering loyalty, discipline, and respect for party supremacy. I believe in consultation, inclusiveness, and teamwork. To the people of Obafemi Owode, I pledge accessible, accountable, and responsive leadership,” he added.

Àjàyí expressed optimism that, with the support of the people and his party, he would secure the mandate to represent the constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly in 2027.

Hon. Adekunle Àjàyí appreciated His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, Governor Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, and Engr. Babatunde Akeem Adesina, also he acknowledged his Boss, Hon. Amb. Ogunsola Lanre Adesina FCPA, Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode, as well as the Obafemi Owode local government party Chairman Chief Emmanuel Ìdòwú Olude, and other Apex leaders, Council of Obas, and other Stakeholders for their guidance and leadership.

The declaration comes as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections in Ogun State and across the country.
